Fair usage policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
linkpls answers the people who want to hear from you, at a pace Instagram is comfortable with. This policy sets out the limits that keep your account safe, what isn’t allowed, and what we do when something goes wrong. It’s part of our terms of service.
Limits that protect your account
For each connected Instagram account:
- DMs: up to 200 an hour and 1,500 a day, at least 12 seconds apart.
- Public replies under comments: up to 60 an hour and 300 a day, at least 45 seconds apart.
Above these limits nothing is lost: DMs wait their turn and go out as soon as the pace allows. A public reply that can’t go out within six hours is skipped; the person still gets their DM.
What each plan includes
- Free: up to 1,000 people a month get a DM, each counted once per automation. The count starts again on the 1st.
- Pro and Scale: no monthly cap, within this policy.
- Instagram accounts: 1 on Free, 1 on Pro, 5 on Scale.
- AI drafts: 20 a minute and 200 a day for each workspace.
- API: 120 requests a minute for each API key.
Instagram’s own rules
linkpls also keeps to Meta’s rules for messaging: one private reply per comment, within seven days of it; any other message only within 24 hours of the person’s last message to you; and nothing more, ever, to someone who replied STOP.
What isn’t allowed
- Messaging people who haven’t engaged with you. linkpls only messages people who commented, replied or messaged you first; don’t try to get around that.
- Spam, misleading offers, or links to phishing, malware or lookalike sites. We check links when you save them.
- Harassment, hate, sexual content, or anything illegal, including regulated goods and services such as drugs, weapons or gambling.
- Pretending to be someone else, or connecting Instagram accounts you don’t own or manage.
- Using several workspaces to get around a plan’s limits, or reselling access to linkpls.
- Trying to break, overload or probe the service, or to reach data that isn’t yours.
- Anything against Instagram’s Terms of Use, its Community Guidelines or Meta’s Platform Terms.
We also advise against running another DM tool on the same comments: people get two messages, and Instagram notices.
How we keep an eye on it
The pace is automatic. The dashboard tells you when a post suddenly takes off and lets you pause DMs with one tap. Links are checked when they’re saved, and we act on reports from people who received messages.
What we do
- Usually: pause the automation and email you why.
- Anything that puts people, or Instagram’s trust in linkpls, at risk can be paused straight away.
- Serious or repeated breaches: we suspend or close the workspace, without a refund.
