How to set it up
- Connect your Instagram professional account through Instagram’s own login.
- Choose the post: one post, all your posts, or your next post.
- Add the keyword people should comment, such as LINK or GUIDE. Add more than one if you like.
- Write the DM and add a link button. A public reply under their comment is on by default; switch it off if you like.
- Switch it on. Every matching comment gets answered.

How keywords match
Capitals and extra spaces don’t matter, and the keyword is matched as a whole word, so “link!” and “LINK please” match LINK but “linkedin” doesn’t. Add several keywords, or choose Any comment. A typo allowance also catches one-letter slips in longer words.
Which posts it watches
One post, every post (including ones you publish later), or your next post: linkpls attaches to the first post you publish after setting it up.
What the DM can carry
Up to 1,000 bytes of text and up to three link buttons. {first_name} fills in the person’s username; Instagram only shares a real name once someone has messaged you.
Say hello first
Optionally open with a short greeting and a “Yes, send it 👉” button. Their tap starts the conversation, then the link follows.
Public replies that vary
Write up to ten public replies, or on Pro let AI write them. linkpls picks one at random for each comment, so your comments don’t fill with the same line.
A different DM per keyword
One automation can answer several words differently: PLAN sends the plan, PRICE sends the rate card. Set it up from the automation’s edit screen.
Instagram’s rules, built in
Instagram allows one private reply per comment, within seven days of the comment. linkpls sends at most 200 DMs an hour, at least 12 seconds apart, and each person gets the link once per automation.
Questions
Do I need a Business account?
You need an Instagram professional account: Business or Creator. Switching is free in Instagram’s settings and takes about a minute.
How quickly does the DM arrive?
Within seconds when your account is quiet. On a busy post, DMs queue and go out at least 12 seconds apart, up to 200 an hour.
What if someone comments twice?
They get the link once per automation, however many times they comment.
Can it answer comments that are already there?
Yes. With catch-up on, it goes back once through comments from the last 24 hours, 3 days or 7 days when you switch it on.
Does it work on Reels and carousels?
Yes. Comments on Reels, photos and carousels all count.
