Your followers see your posts when the algorithm decides. Your email list hears from you when you decide. The comments under your posts are one of the easiest places to grow that list, because people there are already asking you for something.
Why collect emails at all
An email address is a direct line: you can tell people about a launch, a sale or a new class without depending on reach. It’s also portable. If you move platforms, your list comes with you.
Offer something worth an email
People trade an email for something useful and specific:
- a free guide, checklist or template;
- a full recipe or a meal plan;
- a discount code or early access to a drop;
- a place on a waitlist or a free class.
Ask for the email in the DM
With lead capture in linkpls, the flow looks like this:
- Someone comments your keyword, say GUIDE.
- linkpls replies under the comment and sends a DM asking where to send it.
- They reply with their email. linkpls checks the format.
- The link arrives, and the email is saved to your Leads page.
Export and follow up
Download your leads as a CSV, with username, email, phone, the automation it came from and the date, and import it into your email tool. Send a welcome email soon, while they still remember asking.
Tips for a healthy list
- Ask for what you need. Just an email, unless you’ll really call people.
- Deliver first. Send what you promised straight away.
- Make leaving easy. Every email you send should have an unsubscribe link, as the rules for marketing emails require in most places.
