Every comment-to-DM tool, linkpls included, needs an Instagram professional account. Here’s why, which kind to choose, and how to switch in about a minute.
Why you need a professional account
Instagram only gives apps access to comments and messages on professional accounts, through Meta’s official Instagram API. Personal accounts can’t connect to any of these tools, so switching is the first step.
Business or Creator?
Both work with linkpls. Choose the one that describes you:

How to switch
Instagram renames its menus from time to time, but the path in the app is roughly:
- Go to your profile and open the menu (☰) at the top right.
- Open Settings and privacy.
- Find Account type and tools, then tap Switch to professional account.
- Pick the category that fits you best.
- Choose Creator or Business and follow the prompts.
TipIf the labels look different on your phone, search for “professional” in Instagram’s settings.
After you switch
You’re ready to connect a tool. With linkpls, you sign in through Instagram’s own login screen and approve three permissions: your profile and posts, your comments, and your messages. Then you can set up your first automation.
